I've wanted to do fanart of Eternal Sonata from the first time I played it.... And I only got around to doing it now. u.u; I decided I wanted to do something more than just draw one or two characters this time. I wanted to draw them in their world, and maybe try to get some of te feeling of that world into the picture. Not sure if I succeeded... I did the background before I even thought of colouring Polka and Frederic, I knew if I did the people first, I'd be all burnt out at the end and just quicly do some shitty background >.<.
Anyway, as you can see, it's Frederic and Polka... I love Polka. I don't get when people complain about her being "emo".... I'd act that way too if I was a young teenager who was dying, and everyone avoided me like the plague because they thought they could catch it. LOL I think she's very cute and sweet.
And what can I say about Frederic? He's just awesome... Cried so much at the end when <spoiler>I had to fight him</spoiler> In fact, I just cried at the end. XP
First off, it's a rather well-done piece. Since critique has been requested, I'll add in my two cents.
The styles between Frederic's face and Polka's are a little jarring. I know she has a somewhat softer face (being younger and all) but the way it's shaped makes her look like she is an infant. Her forehead is also rather large, her hairline up too far on her head. Her body is also rather small compared to the size of her head, and it's most noticeable on with her hand.
Frederic himself looks alright, though his mouth is almost comically small compared to the rest of his features, but this is a minor nitpick. He also doesn't seem as involved as Polka does. He sort of looks like he is a cardboard cut-out, but I suspect that is because of his rather stiff posing. The shadows that Polka should be casting on him could be darkened, and a lot of the shading itself could be smoothed out a little, especially on Polka's hair.
I think overall this piece is really nice, a few critiques is that you should work on the background, the hands and the hair for Polka, like the pig tails... but still welldone
Omf Shanae....you always blow me away! You've completely come into your own style now and I love ittt! Like we can see these are the characters from Eternal Sonata but you've put your own twist on them! You're so incrediably talented! Totally gotta play this game!
Eternal Sonata is a very cute game, that made me cry... At the very start. lol You can get it on PS3, but you'd have to order it... Plus the PS3 version has more content. :c
I'm going to get a PS3 sometime in the future anyway, so I'll probably rebuy it and play it again. [link] [link] [link] I want to play those, just to name a few... Last one was released here not long ago. Not that it matters, just import them if they aren't released here.
